The Son

The Son was a project I worked on for Lewis, and it immediately caught my interest due to its dark psychological themes. As the Director of Photography, I aimed to reflect the film’s emotional tension and descent into chaos through distinct visual contrasts using cold, desaturated tones in isolated moments and warmer, dimly lit environments to capture intimacy and unease. Drawing inspiration from previous Joker films, I developed a unique visual style that supported the story’s atmosphere while experimenting with lighting, framing, and depth of field to enhance the character’s internal conflict and instability.
